Kenni Voytek, a 2021 graduate of Cuyahoga Heights High School, returned to her alma mater as a guest speaker for the honors biology class. Kenni is currently enrolled in the Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P) program at Eastern Michigan University, where she is pursuing a career focused on helping improve the lives of others through medical technology.

During her presentation, Kenni shared her educational journey and introduced students to the field of prosthetics and orthotics. She explained how biology, anatomy, biomechanics, and engineering all work together in the design and fitting of prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices. Students learned how these specialized devices can restore mobility, increase independence, and improve quality of life for patients.

To make the experience even more interactive, Kenni brought several orthotic and prosthetic devices that she personally created as part of her program. Students had the opportunity to see the devices up close, try some of them on, and experience firsthand how they assist with mobility, balance, and stability.

Cuyahoga Heights is grateful for alumni like Kenni who return to inspire current students and share their experiences beyond high school. We thank her for taking the time to speak with our biology classes.
