Students of the Month  and Borad Members at Oct. 23 meeting.

The October 23 meeting provided the opportunity for the Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education to recognize students of the month for October 2024. Each student was presented a certificate commemorating their accomplishment.

Recognized from Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School:

Josh Dunnell – Grade 4

Josh comes to school with a positive attitude and ready to learn. He is a leader in the classroom, and a role model to his peers. Josh always has his weekly assignments completed, and is an active learner in all of his classes. When a concept is challenging, Josh perseveres. He is an outstanding addition to the fourth grade classroom..

Brianna Gero – Grade 4

Brianna comes to school with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She actively participates in class and is engaged in the lessons. We can always count on her to answer a question or share her ideas.In small groups, In small groups, she is a leader who sets a good example for the other students. 

Recognized from Cuyahoga Heights MIddle School:

Evelyn Kadas – Grade 6

According to her teachers, Evelyn stands out because she is always doing the right thing and doing her best, including playing her instrument in the  orchestra. “She is a true leader!” says one of Evelyn’s teachers. 

Logan Beno – Grade 7

Logan consistently excels in all academic areas, demonstrating a strong commitment to learning and excellence. He has remarkable self-control. Whether working independently or in group settings, he exhibits patience, respect, and the ability to remain composed, even in challenging situations. His positive attitude and ability to make thoughtful decisions, make him a role model to his peers. 

Abigail Dougan – Grade 8

Abbie demonstrates outstanding self control.  She consistently exhibits the ability to manage her behavior and stay focused on her goals, setting a positive example for her peers. Abbie has shown remarkable resilience in challenging situations, whether in the classroom or during group activities. She approaches tasks with a level head, making thoughtful decisions even when faced with distractions. Her ability to remain composed not only enhances her own learning but also contributes to a positive classroom environment.

Recognized from Cuyahoga Heights High School:

Brody Mahoney –Grade 9

Brody has done a fabulous job adjusting to high school and his honors schedule. He has handled the start of the school year with much success and has remained focused both athletically and academically. He is doing outstanding work in Honors Biology.

Kara Burkart – Grade 10

“Kara is off to a great start,” says her Algebra teacher.  She comes to class with a positive attitude, is always on task, and performs at a high level on assessments.  She is a pleasure to have in class.

Hannah Jasany – Grade 11

Hannah is doing a great job in Algebra 2.  She completes all assignments on time, asks questions in class, and performs at a high level on tests and quizzes. “Hannah has been a valuable asset to our class this year,” says her Algebra teacher. According to her chemistry teacher she is the epitome of a well–disciplined student who is a  “pure joy to have in class each and every day.” She comes to class with a cheerful attitude and is prepared to learn.  She asks questions and helps others. “She reassures me each day why I enjoy teaching,” her says her teacher. 

Sophia Kish  – Grade 12

“She has always been a delight to have in class,” says one of Sophia’s teachers who has known her all four of her high school years. Sophia is curious, creative, and a great conversationalist. She is always one of the first students in class to get her work done and she is very open to teacher feedback on her schoolwork. “She seems to genuinely enjoy learning for the sake of learning, which is rare but wonderful!,” says one of her teachers. Sophia puts a great deal of thought into her work and arrives at her conclusions without being influenced by the opinions of others. “I’m always confident that what she turns in is the product of her genuine and unique thought process,” her teacher concluded.
