Dear Cuyahoga Heights students, parents, and residents,

This will be the final edition of Tom Talks, my newsletter keeping you informed of what’s happening in our schools. Matt Young, your new superintendent, is in the process of creating his own newsletter, Reaching New Heights, to keep the Cuyahoga Heights’ school community informed of what is happening in the district and highlighting our outstanding students, staff, and alumni.

As my time as superintendent comes to a close, I want to thank everyone for the past 14 years. It has been my privilege to return to my roots and lead this district.

Cuyahoga Heights is a place like no other. People continue to care and support each other and their communities. It's impossible to describe this district to others, but once you experience it, you realize that, as an educator, it is what you thought of when you dreamed of someday being a teacher. Our staff goes above and beyond to provide opportunities to ensure the success of our students. Our families are incredibly supportive. It is clear that they want their children to have the same wonderful experiences that they had in the Cuyahoga Heights Schools.

I will still be around to assist the Alumni Association and to do my part in continuing to support our students and families. Don’t be surprised if you see me at a sporting or musical event to do just that – to watch our students shine. And should the PTO need someone to wear a goofy outfit to kick off an event, don’t hesitate to contact me.  I just might be your guy!

Best wishes to all, and, Go HEIGHTS!
