Prom Goers Make Lasting Memories Amid “Bright Lights in the Big City”

The lights glowed brightly in both the city beyond and in the eyes of the attendees at Cuyahoga Heights High School’s Senior Prom held on Friday May 13 in the City View Room at Windows on the River. Theme of this year’s event was aptly named “Bright Lights in the Big City.”

Approximately 105 students enjoyed the sounds provided by the Cleveland Music Group’s disc jockeys.  “We had a beautiful view of the Flats and the city while dancing,” said Holden Taylor, senior class president. He and fellow officers, Carly White, Hannah Morrow, and Alexandria Krocker, had been meeting since October to plan this year’s festivities.  “It's difficult to express how much work went into the planning and fundraising for the entire night and we all couldn’t wait to dance the night away!” Taylor added.

The prom goers also enjoyed a buffet-themed dinner which included prime rib, chicken vinaigrette, a vegetarian eggplant parmesan, and other options, as well as a snack bar later in the night.

After the dance, students traveled to Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky to enjoy the after prom from midnight to 4 a.m.  Parents of the class officers coordinated the after prom, which was supported with fundraisers held throughout the school year.
