Students of the Month Recognized

The Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education has recognized Students of the Month for February. Representing Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School are  first graders Ava Hawthorne and Emmett Streitman.

“Ava has a delightful spirit,” said Principal Joy Houchen.  “She is always cheerful and ready to help others whether it be her peers or teachers.  “She always tries her best and is an engaged learner both during instruction and independent work time.”  

Houchen said Emmett is a quiet young man who can always be found doing the right thing.  “He is a mature first grader who listens, pays attention, and makes good choices.  He cares about the quality of his work.  He always does his best and does not give up when presented with a challenge.” She added that he is a positive role model for the first-grade class.  

Principal Mike Janatovich also announced Students of the Month for Cuyahoga Heights Middle and High Schools. Representing the Middle School for February are

  • Joee Cichocki (Grade 6)
  • Olivia Passalacqua (Grade 7)
  • George Michaels (Grade 8)

Representing the High School for February are:

  • David Greenfelder (Grade 9)
  • Joshua Nieves (Grade 10)
  • Riley Connors (Grade 11)
  • Olivia Santiago (Grade 12)

The Cuyahoga Heights Schools Student of the Month program recognizes students for their citizenship, volunteerism, improvement, academics, leadership, school spirit or other outstanding qualities. February’s Students of the Month were recognized on February 23rd. at the Board of Education meeting and those in attendance were presented with a certificate.
