Cuyahoga Heights High School Students Explore Futures at College Day

“Due to COVID-19, students have not participated in many college visits or meetings making the college search very difficult,” said CHHS Guidance Counselor Holly Thrasher.  “The event provided students an opportunity to explore a variety of colleges and gather information. They were engaged in conversation with a number of college representatives which were easily accessible in one setting."

Students enjoyed meeting the representatives and learning about majors, programs, and other exciting opportunities at the various colleges and universities of which they may not have previously been aware. “This sparked an interest for many and gave them the motivation to apply to a school they may not have been thinking about prior,” said Thrasher.

Among the institutions represented were the University of Toledo, Mount Union, University of Cincinnati, Lorain County Community College, and Tri-C.  "It was exciting, helpful, and broadened the horizon for my future," said senior Kaitey Calvey.
